The Chaffee County Community Foundation is excited to announce the 2024 Community Summit for nonprofit professionals and community leaders on April 30 at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. This year's theme is Building Bridges - Strengthening Community Connections. This full day event includes sessions on a variety of topics critical to nonprofit success such as fundraising, nonprofit management, setting your board up for success, volunteer engagement and more. Keynote Speaker, Denise Ackert, will lead us through sessions that will challenge us to increase our community impact. In the afternoon, we will welcome panels from local business owners and funders to explore creating strong partnerships and aligning funder priorities. Attention all Jedi, Sith, and galactic enthusiasts! Salida Regional Library is thrilled to announce the "May The Fourth Be With You Film Festival" at 2 pm on May 4th at High Side Bar & Grill. This year, we ask individuals, businesses, and organizations to create their own TikTok or YouTube Star Wars 15-60 second training video showcasing their unique work or home galaxy. Competing for the title of the galaxy's best with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies is a great way to connect with the community and get your message out. Examples from last year. Light Saber Hacks, Equal Representation Whether you're a Padawan mastering the Force or a seasoned Jedi Knight, this is a chance to share your message with our community using a Star Wars twist. Even if you don't make a film, gather your droids and join us to watch the film submissions, make fun crafts, get temporary tattoos, and hang out at High Side! May the Force guide you to victory!
