New Years Day 5K!
January 1st, 2024 at Riverside Park from 10 AM - 12 PM The New Year's Day 5k registration is open! Come join Salida Parks and Recreation on Monday, January 1st, 2024 at Riverside Park from 10 AM - 12PM. This event is a fun way to kick off the new year on the right foot! Wear your best costume and walk or run this beautiful 5k course from downtown Salida leading out the Monarch Spur Trail and back into town. Click HERE to register now! Registering online before the event will be $10. Day-of registration will be available but the price will increase to $25, so make sure to register as soon as possible. Volunteers Needed! Join The Trailhead gear store on January 9th, 2024, from 6:00-7:30pm for an introduction to gear repair for backcountry skiers, splitboarders, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers. The guides at Buena Vista Mountain Adventures (BVMA) will present essential information to help ensure your gear stays in good working condition year-after-year and that you are prepared to get home safely if you break down during your backcountry tour. BVMA will guide you through equipment inspection, maintenance, and simple repair techniques. You'll leave with the confidence to make a plan to keep your equipment performing in the rugged backcountry. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to enhance your outdoor experience and make your gear last longer.
