Third Annual Fundraiser for Elizabeth Anne’s Haven
Make plans to attend the third annual fundraiser for Elizabeth Anne’s Haven (formerly Haven for Hope), Tuesday, August 20th at 5:30 p.m. The gala Western-themed event, to be held at The Barn at Sunset Ranch, will feature a dinner catered by Amica’s with on-site pizza ovens and a variety of Italian entrees, a dessert bar by Scratch Kitchen and a cash bar. “We hope our friends and neighbors will join us for this fun and informative evening and help us raise money to build a home for women who are survivors of human trafficking–a haven where they can find healing for body, mind and spirit,” said Becky Martin, Elizabeth Anne’s Board President. Ms. Martin added that the evening will offer a silent auction and donation tiers where donors can actively engage with the organization “to build an inviting and welcoming home for the women who live at Elizabeh Anne’s.” The program features an update from director Beth Ritchie and a special presentation from survivor/educator Angela Rae Clark. Ms. Clarke is a writer, speaker and healing arts professional living in the Southwest. She is a survivor of childhood commercial sexual exploitation and actively contributes to survivor-informed research projects and speaks on trauma recovery. She currently is an active leader for the Western Slope Against Trafficking Task Force. Join the Chaffee Rec Adopters and the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area on August 21 at the Tunnel View campground for general cleanup and identified projects. This event starts at 5:30, but come when you can! 5:30-7:30pm Meeting area - Tunnel View Campground, (CR 384A) Bring: Sturdy gloves, closed-toed shoes. Water bottle & food. Open Gate at Badger Creek Ranch
Badger Creek Ranch is hosting a free event on Saturday, August 24 from 10 am - 4 pm. Learn more and register for Full Circle: The Story of Riparian Restoration of the Badger Creek Watershed Register for this free event HERE This family-friendly field day is free to the public. There will be presentations with a ranchers panel and storytelling, followed by tours of the riparian area, wagon rides and visits with the horses and farm animals. Light fare, featuring Badger Creek Ranch beef, will be offered. While the ranch has hosted open gates before, they were more activity focused. The watershed project is a collaboration with Central Colorado Conservancy, which is one of the event sponsors. There will also be draft horse shuttles for the mobility challenged. Experience the Arkansas River Valley and its local food systems at a Foodshed Alliance Farmers Market. With two locations - Buena Vista and Salida - Foodshed Alliance Farmers Markets showcase and complement some of Chaffee County’s most vibrant communities. Both farmers markets begin on Saturday June 1st 2024. The Buena Vista farmers market is held at Columbine Park (51 Linderman Avenue) from 9 am - 1 pm on Saturdays June 1st thru October 5th. The Salida farmers market is held at Alpine Park (404 E Street) from 8 am - 12 pm on Saturdays June 1st thru October 26th. Apply to be a vendor online or call us at 913-904-8207.

In efforts to get our circus garage safe and organized, you will receive free food! The Garage organization party will be held August 31st, 3 pm at the Circus Garage 605 Teller St. Salida, Co 81201.
