Salida Songbirds Present: There’s a Song for That – as part of the Salida Theater Festival
Salida Songbirds Present: There's a Song for That - as part of the Salida Theater Festival Salida 23rd, 24th & 30th The Salida Songbirds are three childhood friends who grew up, left home and each followed a career on the stage. Every now and then they get together and have a good ole gabfest. As old friends are wont to do, they are not shy about calling each other out. In There’s a Song for That we follow the arc of their lives and loves through songs that capture each moment of surprise, or angst, or hope and how that changed them. And, of course, like all musicals, there’s a happy ending.

HOPE Fundraiser at the Salida Distillery
HOPE Fundraiser at the Salida Distillery
Bringing our Valley Hope and the Salida Distillery are partnering Wednesday, September 25th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on an event designed to make participants “feel good inside and out.” “Those words kept popping into my head as we planned this fundraiser,” noted Maggie Barnard, co-owner of the distillery. “We’ll donate 10% of the proceeds to support the work of Bringing Our Valley HOPE, a cause which aligns with our ethos and continues our engagement with the community and ecosystem. People should come to this event to support a good cause, mingle with good people, enjoy some tasty beverages and bites.” John DiGirolamo, president of Bringing our Valley Hope, welcomes the opportunity to share messages and information about human trafficking in an informal, synergistic manner with the distillery’s audiences. “This event will help us raise awareness throughout our valley–and generate the funding to do so.” Adding to the evening’s feel good vibes, the group Equinox Jazz will play from 4:30-6:30 and a food truck will be on site for food options for event attendees. The Salida Distillery is located at 110 E 15th St. in Salida. Its brick & mortar tasting room and production layout was designed with events in mind; it has a welcoming opening floor plan, indoor and outdoor seating. More at www.salidadistillery.com/ Bringing our Valley HOPE (formerly BV HOPE) was launched in 2014 because of the increasing danger of human trafficking in the United States and Colorado. Its mission is to bring education and information to central Colorado to help prevent trafficking in communities throughout the state and to support survivors of trafficking. Guidestone’s Pumpkin Patch at the Hutchinson Ranch
This year’s annual Pumpkin Patch is sure to be abundant family fun! The wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, the live music, the cider and the crafts… a great time was had by all! FUN FACT: Over 1300 pumpkins were ‘picked’ at last year’s event – most of which were given away for free with each child’s ticket. Many of these were grown in Salida at Guidestone’s Community & School Farm! Guidestone would like to give a special shout out to the Hutchinson Ranch and Hutchinson Family, for their generosity in opening up their ranch to the public for this event. In partnership with Guidestone, the Pumpkin Patch is a unique opportunity for the community to get out and experience a beautiful, preserved, 7th-generation working ranch. Thanks to their vision, the entire Hutchinson Ranch has been placed in a conservation easement, protecting it as open space and agricultural land in perpetuity. Guidestone could not host the Pumpkin Patch without their support, and we are truly grateful.
