CANCELLED   April 27th and April 28th Access To Money A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE Connecting SMALL BUSINESSES and START-UPS WITH RESOURCES at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort About: We are excited to announce that the Chaffee County Office of Housing has partnered with our Small Business Development Center, our Economic Development Corp., and the UAACOG Development Corp, to host a regional conference we are calling: “Access to Money and Resources.”  This conference will be held April  27 – 28, 2020 at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort, and we are pleased to host the following keynote speakers: - Betsy Markey, Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and - Rick Garcia, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs.   Perhaps even more exciting, is that the intent of the conference is to link entrepreneurs with financial capital to bring their ideas to fruition.  Day one of the conference will have time dedicated to let lenders, investors, and other supportive organizations showcase their products, including loans, grants, and investments. Day two, will have time dedicated for people like you to present your housing and/or business development ideas in front of this room full of people with the capital and other resources to bring your ideas to fruition.  You must register to speak by emailing bgray@chaffeecounty.org.   This innovative approach to getting small-scale development projects funded has gained the attention of the Colorado Housing Finance Authority, who is co-sponsoring the event – as well as the attention of local, state-wide, regional, and national capital lenders and investors.   Let’s get your project funded! Whether you have a housing development idea, an innovative construction technique, or a small business concept, we want to help you get you in front of this room of experts.  Please reply back to us and set a time that we can get together to flesh out your idea and plug you into this awesome opportunity.  At the very least, let’s get you on the email distribution list for the event – you won’t want to miss this innovative opportunity!

Everyone is invited to attend the FREE Annual Salida Riverside Art & Music Festival held annually the 3rd weekend in July at Riverside Park in downtown Salida on the banks of the great Arkansas River (since 2009). Juried handcrafted art by national artists, with sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, leather, wood, photography, wearable art, painting, fiber, mixed media, and more. Popular local and invited musicians perform both days on the amphitheater stage. On stage has been music performers from the area and regionally including Bruce Hayes, Kelly Triplett, AJ Fullerton, Hogan & Moss, Beans and Wheels, Soda Blue, Ponder The Albatross, Doc and Kit, Clyde Tullis, Cody Jeffryes, Steve Werges, and so many more. The music schedule is updated in June and posted on the festival website at www.coloradoeventsandfestivals.com Make your own special art at the free Creation Station Art Experience. A Libations Garden offers local craft beer and wine, and enjoy delicious vendor foods. Cool your toes in the Arkansas River with sandy beaches just steps away from the festival - or schedule a rafting trip with one of the many popular rafting companies in Salida. Free admission.
