Arbor Day on S Mountain 2024

The Salida Parks department has 270 native tree saplings to plant, and they need your help!  This is our first year in a multiyear effort to begin a reforestation project on S Mountain, in collaboration with GARNA, Colorado Conservancy, and Colorado State Forest Service . We will be planting Pine and Juniper saplings in two different locations on the mountain, so please be prepared to be involved in digging, walking, and carrying materials - tools will be provided, bring gloves if you have them, and dress appropriately (closed toe shoes, layers, etc.)! The group will meet at Mountain Heritage Park at 9am on Saturday May 11th. Thank you for joining us! Click HERE to sign up to volunteer!
