Blue Truck Ice Cream is a vintage Ice Cream Truck. We sell Ice Cream Novelties. We do events; including birthdays, weddings, BBQ’s, any event you can think of. The Truck is a 1949 Dodge B Series and belonged to Scott’s Grandfathers. Walter Madison who bought the truck in 1950, in Salida, at Chaffee County Motor Company located at 1448 F Street where Atmos gas is now. The Truck was originally a ranch truck to go over to Villa Grove to check on the cows; and bring them to Salida to the sale barn. The truck sat in a field across the street from Scott’s childhood home on Palmer from the 60’s until 1997. From then Scott had the truck (affectionately named “Walter”) repainted and the seat recovered.; that is the only restoration which has been done.

Elements Mountain Compost is committed to reducing organic waste by helping businesses divert foodscraps from the landfill and reduce their carbon footprint through composting. EMC provides weekly pick-up services for commercial kitchens and is developing a drop-off program for area residents. Foodscraps are mixed with woodchips, sawdust and other yardwaste to create a nutrient-rich soil product available for local gardeners. Since 2015, EMC has diverted hundreds of cubic yards of reusable organic material from the landfill and helped Chaffee County work towards a more sustainable future.
