The Biker & The Baker is the third eatery opened and owned by Sarah and Rob Gartzman, following Sweeties Sandwich Shop and Mo Burrito (sold to longtime employee and Salida local in 2019).  When opening this business in 2017, Rob and Sarah wanted to do things different this time around. They were looking to provide the community with more of an “evening experience” as well as a way to showcase Sarah’s first-class pastry art skills.  To pair with this extravagant dessert menu, they incorporated sommelier skills and a wine menu featuring 75 wines from around the globe, changing the wine seasonally.

Their vision was to create a “Sweeties afterhours” where people can eat fancy food in a community driven environment.  Their desserts are changed weekly, and Sarah has rarely ever baked the same dessert twice for the B&B.  She has now baked over 2,000 different desserts in the last 4 years!

Along with a new location above their other grub hub, Sweeties, The Biker & The Baker has also added some new options to their wine and dessert bar.   Since relocating, they now serve unique and creative brunch cuisine every day from 8 a.m. to noon, and are open evenings from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday.

The evening menu features desserts of course! But also cheese and charcuterie served with house made pickled veggies and olives, house baked bread with cheese from all over the world.  They now also have a full bar and craft about 30 cocktails that are all made in house, from the freshly squeezed juices all the way to the garnishes.
