The Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands is preparing for prescribed pile burning on National Forest System lands beginning December 2023 and continuing into the spring of 2024. Piles of woody debris (slash) are burned to help reduce hazardous fuels.
