The Salida Arts Festival

Riverside Park

The 10th Annual Salida Arts Festival is a small high quality show held in a town recognized for its art and artists. Many have called this "The Best Art Event" in the Valley. The show location is in beautiful Riverside park adjacent to the newly created "F" St. pedestrian mall. This is the tenth year for the event. We are keeping this a small "boutique" style show with only 80 artists accepted. Come Enjoy Salida - Enjoy our Historic little town; Recreate in our Mountains. Click HERE for all the details!

Ark-Valley Humane Society offers Free Community Microchip and Pet ID Tag Clinic!

Ark-Valley Humane Society is excited to announce its first ever Free Community Microchip and Pet ID Tag Clinic! AVHS will be inviting the public to the shelter on Sunday, July 21st, from 12-3PM for free microchips and pet ID tags. In 2023 Ark-Valley Humane Society helped reunite 185 lost animals with their families. Pets who came in with up-to-date ID tags and/or microchips were able to go home sooner. One of the first things AVHS staff is trained to do when a lost animal arrives at the shelter is check for ID tags and scan for a microchip. “We hope by offering this clinic even more pets will have up-to-date tags and microchips so that lost pets can be quickly reunited with their loving families,” said AVHS Executive Director, Nikki Ritter. AVHS asks that you bring cats in a carrier and your dogs on a leash. When you first arrive please leave your pets in the car and check in at the outdoor table near the front door so that staff may instruct you where to go from there. There will be an outdoor area with water bowls for friendly dogs. For questions, please contact Emy Nettleblad at enettleblad@ark-valley.org.
