FEBRUARY 23-25, 2024 DECISION MAKING IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN SKI & SPLITBOARD  Snowshoers Please See Our Snowshoe Specific Course Here. AIARE 1 is a three-day / 24-hour introduction to avalanche hazard management. Students can expect to develop a good grounding in how to prepare for and carry out a backcountry trip, to understand basic decision making while in the field, and to learn rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person (if an avalanche occurs and someone in the party is caught). This course is in partnership with Salida Parks & Rec and anyone that signs up for the course with a Chaffee County address will receive a discount when checking out. Buena Vista Mountain Adventures has partnered with Salida Parks and Recreation to offer a discounted course to all Chaffee County Residents. AVALANCHE SAFETY LAB 7 p.m. Buena Vista Snowmobile Club hosts a free Avalanche Safety Lab at The Loft, 413 E. Main St. Open to the public. Food and drink available for purchase.

7:30-9:30pm at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center Leisure pool heats up to 102-104 degrees and lights turn down for this super chill night in the pool for adults only! (Ages 18 & Up) $10 drop-in. Memberships and Access passes can also be used for admission.
