Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) is excited to announce that Stefanie Nelson, CCPH’s Consumer Protection Specialist, recently received her Standardization Certificate from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Standardization is a process set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to promote uniformity of regulatory retail food inspections among federal, state, local, and tribal agencies. Certification demonstrates individual knowledge and successful application of the Colorado Retail Food Establishment Rules and Regulations. Collectively, the goal is to maintain high standards of food safety through the identification of foodborne illness risk factors and public health interventions. Stefanie spent countless hours studying the standardization curriculum and spending time with CDPHE inspectors to earn this milestone.
