NEW YEARS DAY 5K

Start the New Year with Salida Parks and Recreation’s Annual 5K! Whether you’re walking or running, this festive and family-friendly event is the perfect way to embrace a healthy start to the year. Put on your best costume and hit the scenic trail for a fun-filled 5K adventure! Get ready for an exciting twist to this year’s 5K! Our brand-new race course kicks off at the Salida Golf Course parking lot and takes you up onto the mesa to enjoy the breathtaking 360° views. The course then winds through the golf course along the path back to the finish line. You're going to love it! Click on the button below to view the new course map. Registration is available until race time on race day (10am). Registration is only $10! Before December 11, you can also purchase a shirt for $15 and pick it up on race day. Make sure to order your t-shirt ahead of time, there won't be any available for sale on race day. Let’s ring in the new year together, one step at a time. We hope to see you there! Crafting, Sewing and Leatherwork at A Church

A Church

Every Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

Join GARNA at Monarch Mountain for a free Ski with a Naturalist Tour. Guest Naturalist: Dominique Naccarato from Western Colorado University. 11am at the trail map by the cat yurt. The tour is family friendly and takes place on green runs. Tour is free, but a valid lift ticket is required.
