Foodshed Alliance Farmers Market in Salida
Considered one of Colorado’s most breathtaking regions, the Arkansas River Valley is home to expansive ranches and farmland. With its abundant resources, fresh water and mild climate, Foodshed Alliance’s earliest founders recognized the valley’s potential for supporting a local food economy. Experience the Arkansas River Valley and its local food systems at a Foodshed Alliance Farmers Market. With two locations - Buena Vista and Salida - Foodshed Alliance Farmers Markets showcase and complement some of Chaffee County’s most vibrant communities. Both farmers markets begin on Saturday June 1st 2024. The Buena Vista farmers market is held at Columbine Park (51 Linderman Avenue) from 9 am - 1 pm on Saturdays June 1st thru October 5th. Salida Chalk Festival
Downtown SalidaLike the Madonnari tradition of street painting in Italy, local artists will take to the streets and create colorful murals of chalk and pastel in real time in downtown Salida. The Salida Chalk Festival will take place Saturday, June 29, 9:00am to 5:00pm in downtown Salida. The Salida Chalk Festival has four total categories for entry: Featured artists, Selected artists, Community teams and Youth teams. Community teams, individual and youth teams are open to the public. Enjoy colorful art, live music and concessions during the Festival. Celebration and Awards ceremony for community, individual, and youth teams such as Judges Choice and People’s Choice at 5:30pm on event day. Reservations will be closed at 9am on the Friday before the demo! * WHEN: June 30th, 9am-4pm Analog bike pickup times are 9am and 1pm E-Bike pickup time is 10am WHERE: Absolute Bikes parking lot Bring your riding gear, and the PIVOT team will get you dialed with saddle height, suspension pressure, etc.
