Salida Chamber Calendar

The Parent Toolkit for Kids class will be running on Monday nights, 5:30pm-7:30pm, from January 27th-February 24th at the Boys and Girls Club in Salida. This class is designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 9-14, to help them support their kids in making good choices. Some of the topics that will be covered include: The class is free of charge, and dinner will be provided! Free childcare will also be available for children up to age 14. Starting Feb. 7, Anshor Driving School is offering a 30 hour In Person Drivers Ed Class in Salida! This class meets every Friday from 8am-4pm. Students 14.5 to 17.5 years old can register. Call 719-398-1405 for details or register at anshordriving.com

02/21-23/2025 Every day, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Steamplant Annex | 220 West Sackett Avenue, Annex is next door to the Steamplant Event Center, Salida, CO, 81201 AIARE 1: Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain AIARE 1 is a three-day / 24-hour introduction to avalanche hazard management. Students can expect to develop foundational skills in preparing for and carrying out a backcountry trip, understand basic decision-making while in the field, and learn rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person (if an avalanche occurs and someone in the party is caught). AIARE 1 is for ANYONE, regardless of the method of travel, who wants to recreate in or near avalanche terrain. Participants may have attended some awareness classes or workshops or completed an Avalanche Rescue or AIARE Prep course; there are no prerequisites for this course. Every Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

Little Shredders- Roller Skating, Skateboarding and Scooters For Age 7 and Under at Ramps and Alleys Every Friday from 10am-noon, from August 16th-April 25th at Ramps and Alleys, 645 E. Rainbow Blvd. $10 per session.
