Monarch Mountain at the Crest will be holding an END OF SEASON CLOSEOUT on September 27th-29th, from 9am-5pm. You will have the opportunity to purchase Monarch 4-packs, get 50% off of all retail, scoops of ice cream for $1, and $5 tram rides! There will also be a soft good donation drive where Monarch Mountain Community Outreach will be collecting jackets, pants, gloves, and other soft goods to donate back to those in needs.

Join us for a free community lecture about end-of-life options presented by Barbara Morris, MD. Barbara is a fierce defender of every Coloradan's right to patient-centered end-of-life care with equal access to all legal options. In her consulting practice, she works with patients and families to understand their care management and end of life needs. She is proud to be a founding members of End of Life Options Colorado Board of Directors. This event will take place September 27th, 10-11:30am, at Colorado Mountain College's Salida Campus, 349 E 9th St. For questions contact Molly Bischoff.

Chaffee County Recreation Adopters- National Public Lands Day

Join the Chaffee Rec Adopters and the BLM and the National Forest Foundation for a dispersed campsite designation and cleanup for National Public Lands Day! We'll be getting the area set up for designated dispersed camping by taking down fire rings, removing ash piles, installing signs and other projects. September 28 - 9am - Noon Meeting area - Shavano Wildlife Management Area Bring: Gloves, closed-toed shoes, shovels/rakes. Water bottle & food. Hat, long pants and sleeves recommended.  Water and light snacks provided. Foodshed Alliance Farmers Market in Salida

Experience the Arkansas River Valley and its local food systems at a Foodshed Alliance Farmers Market. With two locations - Buena Vista and Salida - Foodshed Alliance Farmers Markets showcase and complement some of Chaffee County’s most vibrant communities. Both farmers markets begin on Saturday June 1st 2024. The Buena Vista farmers market is held at Columbine Park (51 Linderman Avenue) from 9 am - 1 pm on Saturdays June 1st thru October 5th. Salida Studio Tour

Visit artists at work during the annual Salida Studio Tour! This is your chance to meet Salida artists and step inside their unique studios. You will learn about painting, printmaking, clock making, woodturning, sculpting, metal working, mosaics, glasswork, fiber art and so much more. Find great art to buy, learn about art classes, and see cool ways to set up an art studio. All studios are open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, 2024.
