HRRMC Hosts Artist Reception Dec. 11 at Salida SteamPlant
Salida SteamPlantHeart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) will host a public artist reception on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Salida SteamPlant Event Center. The reception will feature four local and regional artists who exhibited their work in the hospital’s rotating art exhibit in 2024. Photographer Robert Dimmitt of Buena Vista; printmaker Ramona Lapsley of Manitou Springs; botanical illustrator Wendy Wibbens of Buena Vista; and mixed media artist Conrad Nelson of Buena Vista, will bring examples of their work to the reception for public viewing. The reception will be catered by Kalamata Pit Catering. There will be a cash bar, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available free of charge. The hospital displays the work of regional artists as part of its mission to create a healing environment. 25 percent of the proceeds from art sales is donated to the HRRMC Foundation.
Crafting, Sewing and Leatherwork at A Church
A ChurchEvery Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!
