Crafting, Sewing and Leatherwork at A Church

Every Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

Monarch Mountain Opening Day!

Monarch Announces Opening Day Friday, November 22, 2024 Monarch Mountain is preparing to launch their 85th ski season on Friday, November 22, 2024.  “Each year, our goal is to start the lifts as early as possible, and thanks to Mother Nature and the relentless efforts of our incredible mountain operations team, a November opening is happening!” said Christopher Haggerty, General Manager at Monarch Mountain.  The ski area plans to run the Pioneer, Garfield, Tumbelina and Caterpillar lifts. They are evaluating conditions and will release their grooming report at 6am on opening day.   New this season, Monarch Mountain has expanded its ski patrol clinic to enhance on-mountain safety, increased its grooming and maintenance capacity and improved several internal venues in anticipation of the future No Name development. Monarch will continue to work on the   expansion efforts throughout the season and into the following summer with a planned opening date during the 25/26 ski season. Guests can now start their day with a hearty breakfast at the Gunbarrel Cafeteria which will be open 7 days a week. Season passholders receive a 20% discount at the cafeteria, making it even easier to fuel up for a great day on the mountain.  Opening day hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the Rental Shop, Sidewinder Saloon, Java Stop, Ski and Ride School, and Elation Sports all set to welcome guests. Salida’s Next Last Waltz!

Tickets for the 2024 Salida’s Next Last Waltz shows on November 22, 23, 28, 29 & 30 of this year will go on-sale beginning at 10:00 am at the SteamPlant Annex. UPDATE: Per the show producers tickets sales will take place in-person ONLY on this date while supplies last. Any remaining tickets after the in-person event closes will be placed back into online channel for purchase. Tickets: $40.00 (Physical tickets from online sales channel will be available for pick-up at SteamPlant Box Office beginning November 5, 2024 during regular business hours, Mon-Fri 9am-4pm) No refunds are available. The SteamPlant Box Office will NOT handle any date changes of previously purchased tickets or be able to replace lost/misplaced tickets. All shows start at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7:00pm.
