The 2019 HRRMC Cancer Walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. Registration fee is $35. There is no fee for cancer survivors. The Cancer Walk will start and end on the HRRMC hospital campus. We will follow the walking trail that circles the hospital campus. The loop is approximately 1.5 miles. Walkers are encouraged to walk as many laps as they'd like. A cancer survivor will address the group in the Healing Garden prior to sending walkers on their way. The monies raised by the Walk will be deposited in the HRRMC Oncology Fund, which is administered by the HRRMC Foundation. Any proceeds—including donations, registration fees, and fundraising—will benefit local oncology patients. Funds may be used for wigs, gas cards, lymphedema sleeves, or equipment to best care for our patients. Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is hosting a Pregnancy and Baby Fair. The event will be held in the hospital’s atrium lobby by the main entrance, 1000 Rush Drive, Salida. The fair is free and open to everyone. Tours of the Family Birthing Center will be available as well as information on breastfeeding, baby care, nutrition and more. Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is hosting an open house for seven new and two returning medical providers in the hospital atrium lobby near the main entrance, 1000 Rush Dr., Salida. The new providers include cardiologists Laurence Berarducci, M.D. and Kenneth Wool, M.D.; gynecologist Tiffany Rhodes, M.D.; allergist and immunologist Diane C. Napoli, M.D.; audiologist Robert Furby, M.S.; family-medicine physician Jeremy Roderick, D.O.; and neurologist Christopher Williams, D.O. The two returning physicians are neurologist Suzanne Lesage, M.D., and surgeon Jerry Smith, D.O. This event is free and open to the public.
