Salida Chamber Calendar

The Parent Toolkit for Kids class will be running on Monday nights, 5:30pm-7:30pm, from January 27th-February 24th at the Boys and Girls Club in Salida. This class is designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 9-14, to help them support their kids in making good choices. Some of the topics that will be covered include: The class is free of charge, and dinner will be provided! Free childcare will also be available for children up to age 14. 02/11/2025 6:00-7:30 pm Salida Mountain Sports 110 F St, Salida, CO 81201 Snowpack Uncertainty  Join us for a FREE informative talk at Salida Mountain Sports on managing uncertainty in the snowpack. All backcountry enthusiasts welcome – skiers, splitboarders, snowmobilers, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers. Buena Vista Mountain Adventures (BVMA) Owner, Tommy Gram-Ahlene will lead this community conversation. Learn about the 9 different avalanche problems and how to observe, manage, and make informed decisions when touring in the backcountry. What to Expect: An overview of the formation of the layered mountain snowpack Avalanche Problems and how to observe and manage them Weighing out evidence and uncertainty in the snow to make better decisions. Build on the skills you already know about avalanches and build decision-making skills for managing uncertainty in the snow. Who should attend: Anyone who enjoys winter backcountry recreation :) This conversation will be most beneficial to those with prior avalanche education. RSVP Here.  

Starting Feb. 7, Anshor Driving School is offering a 30 hour In Person Drivers Ed Class in Salida! This class meets every Friday from 8am-4pm. Students 14.5 to 17.5 years old can register. Call 719-398-1405 for details or register at anshordriving.com

Every Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

Little Shredders- Roller Skating, Skateboarding and Scooters For Age 7 and Under at Ramps and Alleys Every Friday from 10am-noon, from August 16th-April 25th at Ramps and Alleys, 645 E. Rainbow Blvd. $10 per session.
