The Salida Community Center’s mission is to promote an environment of support and advocacy to adults by fostering opportunities for fellowship, recreation, health and wellness, life-long learning and partnering with other community organizations.
The center is organized to serve the needs of the community at large, with special emphasis on senior programs. One of these needs is a conveniently located, affordable, meeting place for local non-profits and other community groups. The Community Center is also the host site for the Area Agency on Aging’s meal program, including Meals on Wheels. In addition, the Community Center offers educational programs, recreational activities such as the hiking club, day trips, weekly Bingo, Pokeno, arthritis exercise classes and social events such as dinners, fundraisers and get-togethers. The center has four computers available for use by the public, free of charge.
