The Gosar family has been producing fine food in America since Grandpa Frank came from southern Austria in 1900. Now the sixth generation of family sausage makers, Klayton, is producing European-style sausage with no preservatives, no nitrites, no additives, no fillers and no MSG.

We use only USDA-inspected and trimmed pork shoulders and freshly mixed real spices and wine — no extracts. Our pork sausage is 85 percent lean and lower in salt, fat and water than any comparable product. We never use trim pieces, fat-soaking fillers, artificial flavoring extracts or other money-saving shortcuts in our sausage. Our chicken sausage is made from USDA-inspected boneless, skinless thigh meat and is 90 to 92 percent lean. We use only the finest hand-pulled natural casings and each sausage is tied, cut, inspected and packed by hand. Our links are hand-tied, four per pound. Our patties are eight or five per pound, and our bulk is in one-pound or six-pound packs. Our retail pack is in 1-pound vacuum-sealed pouches, and our food-service pack is a 12-pound box for links and for patties. Current varieties are Bavarian, Italian, Hot Italian, Breakfast, Tequila Chorizo, Chili ‘n Chives and Mandarin-Orange Ginger. Gosar Ranch has been producing wheat since 1963 and has marketed it in the conventional channels, including seed, milling, export and feed lots. In 1978 a decision was made to build a small-scale flour mill and mill the wheat into a superior stone-ground flour which would be marketed as directly to consumers as possible.
