Zack and Mike started Badfish in Zack’s garage on 11th street in Salida back in 2009. They started out making some of the first river surfing specific surfboards in the world. Badfish then progressed to making stand up paddleboards, rafts and related accessories and selling their products all over the US as well as Canada and Japan. In 2023 Badfish remodeled a space on the corner of E and 1st street to open a flagship surf shop in downtown Salida. The highest elevation surf shop in the world.
