Join us at the Steam Plant each month as Salida Arts & Culture presents the monthly art exhibit in the Paquette Gallery and the Salida Council for the Arts hosts a reception and chance to meet other art supporters. Meet the artists, hear about the exhibit, network, and participate in the Soapbox tradition- where artists and organizations can make announcements about upcoming events, shows, and programs. From visual art, dance, music, theatre, and more, discover ways to get involved in Salida's vibrant arts scene! Enjoy live music and light refreshments. A cash bar is available. This event is free and open to the public. The dates for the 2025 Creative Mixers are Feb 6, March 5, April 10, May 1, June 12, July 10, August 7, September 5, October 9, November 13, and December 11. Crafting, Sewing and Leatherwork at A Church
A ChurchEvery Friday from 9-1 we will be Crafting at A Church! We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. We have some supplies for our suggested craft, but for some ideas you might have to bring something.... we suggest reusing what you have..... We can still make the mushroom garland but will be making holiday garland and other paper crafts. If you want to make the mushroom garland bring 6 hollowed out cuties (little oranges) cut in 1/2 and dried. ~Bring old cards or fun paper to make gift tags. ~Bring random yarn for yarn baskets. We also invite yo to sew, cross stitch, felt, etc. Charles will be here to teach basic skills about leatherwork. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

The City of Salida Arts & Culture Creative District Program presents First Fridays! Join us every first Friday of the month in the Salida Creative District as galleries and creative businesses in Salida’s historic downtown stay open later so you can talk with an artist, watch a demo, or find that perfect piece of art. From painting to sculpture, ceramics, photography, plein air, jewelry, fiber art and more, enjoy a festive evening downtown as you drop into one of Salida’s many businesses to see new art, live music, and light refreshments! Participate in the Palette Card program where you can get a stamp at each business you visit. Redeem your completed card at the host gallery for an art mini while supplies last. First Fridays are free to attend and open to the public.

As you may know, the Colorado Grain Chain and the Northwest & Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center (RFBC) are excited to announce the upcoming Colorado Grain Summit, taking place on March 8th in Salida, CO. The Colorado Grain Summit is a 1-day conference on March 8th in Salida, CO organized by a dedicated planning committee of Colorado farmers, bakers, distillers, millers, and food businesses, led by the Colorado Grain Chain and RFBC. The event is designed to inspire diversified and sustainable pathways to greater market impact, featuring curated networking sessions and panel discussions that highlight innovative success stories across the grain supply chain. This event is taking place directly following Guidestone's 10th Annual AgriSummit for a full ag-packed weekend. Attend both events and receive $10 off each! Guided Snowshoe Adventure at Waterdog Lakes!
Join a CDT Gateway Community Ambassador from Salida for a guided snowshoe adventure near the Continental Divide on Saturday, March 8 at 9 AM! Participants will meet their guide at the Waterdog Lakes Trailhead at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM departure. The snowshoe will head up the trail for 1.5-2 miles towards the Continental Divide. The hike will be 4-5 miles maximum. This event is designed for people with some familiarity using snowshoes, or who are able to hike 4+ miles at a time. Please do not bring other types of equipment (e.g. skis). Snowshoes will be available to borrow, courtesy of Salida Mountain Sports. Please note that the CDTC program leader is AIARE 1 and Wilderness First Responder certified. Remember to dress warm, bring sunglasses, water, and a snack if needed. Please do not bring your pet to the program. Always prepare for changing weather conditions in the mountains! Carpooling to the event location is encouraged. Please register for the event and request to borrow equipment, if applicable, at this link. All participants must register themselves individually. A ChurchIn honor of International Women’s Day, Colorado TINTS will be hosting a fundraiser for our local chapter of Planned Parenthood. The Chaffee County Women's Day Faire and Festival will take place on Sunday March 9 from 1-7pm at A Church in Salida. The day will include theater performances, poetry readings, music, song and dance, as well as a market showcasing local female artists and women-owned businesses.
