Colorado Mountain College

Colorado Mountain College has partnered with the largest college to career job platform, Handshake. If you have job openings I encourage you to sign up with Handshake, create a profile, and start positing positions.  Here is more information on CMC Career Services and Handshake:

Because of moving to a new platform, I am in the process of redesigning the Career Services area at CMC.  What this means is that I have suspended any in person or virtual career fairs at this time.  It is hard to create 11 career fairs for each of our campuses, so I am looking into new and different ways we can help our employers and students connect via in-person and virtually.

As I mentioned, we have partnered with the largest college to career job platform, Handshake.  This is your place to post open positions within your company.  Our process is simple and free to get started, you can click on the link below to sign up an use our job board.  I also have instructions on there as well: https://coloradomtn.edu/student-services/career-services/

Inside this website page you will see a box that says “New Employer? Start Here”  Click to open that page and read through the documents on that page.  Once you have completed that, then click on Handshake.  This way you will be able to create your free account and profile so you can start posting positions once you are approved.  Just to note I do go into the site several times a day to approve employers and job postings, so if you set it up before 5pm today, you will be approved to start posting jobs the same day. However, It can take up to five business days for CMC to approve your request. If you do not receive a response within that time frame, contact the Career Services department at the school. You can find the contact information for a CMC’s Career Services by selecting Schools from the left navigation bar, then clicking on the name of the school you wish to reach.  If you already have a Handshake account, then just search Colorado Mountain College and connect us together.

First, you will completed your profile: a well-crafted user and company profile plays a vital role in shaping your brand and building rapport and trust with our students and school partners. Put your best foot forward with a complete user and company profile.  Once your profile is complete, you can post jobs on Handshake and while completing the job listing you can indicate which CMC degree or certificate programs this job would fit.  Refer to these articles for information about setting up your profile, getting started, how to post jobs and how to host a virtual fair.

As for internships, these are handled via a specific academic program.  There are only a few programs that require internships as part of their curriculum, Sustainability Studies, Business, Veterinary Technician, and Digital Media.  Here is the link to our Internship website: https://coloradomtn.edu/academics/internship-program/

For business specific Internships, click on the right side of that page.  Our School of Business program has specific requirements for internships, so please reach out to them about the internship program, the details about the program and any questions you might have about their program.

If you have questions or what to learn more about Handshake, you can search their extensive Help Center for everything Handshake: https://support.joinhandshake.com/hc/en-us Click on that link and search the topic you want to learn more about.

I am happy to send out any flyers you create to our campuses for them to post. Some of our campuses do allow for employers to host a table to talk with students.  Salida and the Vail/Edwards campuses do not allow tabling at this time.

If you would like to talk about the process or have any other questions, you can send me an email or call my number below,
