Start Planning For The 2017 Youth Tour To Washington, D.C.

If you are a junior in high school, you could be the lucky student from Sangre de Cristo’s service territory to win the chance to represent the cooperative in the nation’s capital. The winner will join other students from around the state and country for an exciting week of learning and exploring Washington, D.C., June 8 – 15, 2017.

The tour is arranged through Colorado Rural Electric Association, the statewide organization representing all 22 of Colorado’s rural electric cooperatives. The trip is all-expenses-paid and adult chaperones accompany the students and facilitate the activities during the week long adventure.

Application packets are available from area high school guidance counselors, or can be downloaded from our website at www.myelectric.coop. To enter a student must have a parent or guardian who is a member of Sangre de Cristo. The application must be filled out and returned with an essay of 300 – 500 words on one of the topics outlined in the packet.  The deadline for entering is Friday, December 16, 2016 at 5:00 pm.
