Monarch Mountain – January

January

Ski with a Naturalist 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26/18 – Free event

A free skiing tour on beginner runs with a Naturalist. The tour highlights Monarch’s forest ecology, wildlife in the winter, the recreational history of Monarch Pass, and the Monarch USFS Partnership.

Skier Responsibility Code 1/6/18

Monarch is all about safety. Join Monarch’s Ski Patrol throughout the day for tips on mountain safety.

Backcountry Day 1/13/18

Learn about the back country. Snow safety educational events will be offered throughout the day. Demo the newest in back country equipment and learn about avalanche awareness.

Kids on Lifts & Lids on Kids 1/20/18

Kids love to ski and we love to help be safe. Helmet fitting and the proper way for kids to ride a chair lift will be the focus of the day.

Park Smart Education 1/27/18

Start Small, Make a Plan, Always Look, Respect the Features, and Take it Easy. It’s the Park Smart way. Spend the day on the park with tips and tricks from Monarch’s professional snowboard instructors.

Town Challenge Race 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26/18 – Teams sponsored by local businesses

A fair and friendly competition for amateur recreational skiers and boarder. Businesses sponsor teams of six to battle it out during eight weeks of fun racing on Freeway.
