The Hutchinson Homestead is open for guided tours of the historic site. 8913 W. Hwy 50, between Salida & Poncha Springs. $5/ person.
Saturday Afternoon Gatherings
Each Week, June 17 – July 29
Join us on Saturday afternoons through the summer for guided tours of the site, live music, pie, relaxing under the historic willow trees, and visiting the animals. Great for families! $5/ person or $10/ family.

Alive On Fridays
Each Week, June 2 – July 28
Open to all ages
Each week a different guest presenter will provide an informative presentation followed by a hands-on activity. Great for families and guests of all ages!
June 15 – Join Gina Marcell of Salida’s Mountain Goat Lodge to learn all about dairy goats! There will be a mama goat with her babies, try your hand at milking, and sample some of the goat cheese made at the Lodge’s goat dairy.
June 23 – Join Harold & Judy Starbuck of the historic Starbuck Dairy to learn all about dairy farming in the old days of Chaffee County, followed by butter and ice cream making, and eating!
June 30 – TBD
July 7 – Join Peggy & Nelson Reininger of Hallmark Ranch Alpacas to learn about raising alpacas. A couple of their alpacas will be here as part of the program, and their presentation will be followed by an activity to make spun bracelets from alpaca fleece.
