2012 Events are still being scheduled - please come back soon.

11 ~ Thursday, Dr. Amy Frykholm - Collegiate Peaks Forum Local Expert Series
“Doing it Right: Sex and Christianity in American Media.” 7:00 p.m., The Congregational United Church of Christ, 217 Crossman Avenue, Buena Vista
Dr. Amy Frykholm uses her third and latest book, See Me Naked: Stories of Sexual Exile in American Christianity ,and her work as a social critic, as the foundation for her examination of the relationship between religion and sexuality in books, movies, television, and other written material. She is associate editor for The Christian Century, and she lives in Leadville. Frykholm holds a PhD degree in literature from Duke University. Her books have explored the connection between reading fiction and articulating religious commitments; explored the accomplishments to society of a 14th century author, writing on religious beliefs of her day, who is the first woman to write in the English language; and looked at the struggles of nine people who balance their religious beliefs and their sexual experiences.
