Aspen Concert: The American Brass Quintet and friends. In
its 48th season, the ABQ is recognized around the world one of the
world's premier brass ensembles. Concert at 7:30 p.m. at John Held
Auditorium, Salida High School, 10th and D Streets, Salida CO.
The American Brass Quintet returns to Salida to open the 32nd annual
Salida Aspen Concerts season of six classical music concerts in
partnership with the Aspen Music Festival and School. The ABQ will
be joined by a student brass ensemble from Aspen. Baroque, Renaissance
and Elizabethan music is their specialty, but the world renowned
ABQ also plays contemporary music, historically researched band
music from the American Civil War and new works they have commissioned.
ABQ's website at www.americanbrassquintet.org has a database of
brass music composed since 1950. The tour schedule of the ABQ, now
in its 48th season, has included annual performances in Salida since

Stage Left Theatre Company will be presenting a tribute to women
in theatre during ArtWalk weekend. The show will consist
of a variety of scenes and monologues exploring women's relationships
with their families and friends, their careers, and with themselves.
Created and directed by Greg West, the show's featured selections
are all from plays by 20th century playwrights. Pieces will be presented
from The Glass Menagerie, Laundry and Bourbon, The Heidi Chronicles,
How I Learned to Drive, and others, including the relatively unknown
On the Verge. The comedies and dramas of women's lives will be portrayed
by a wonderful group of local women: Jane Templeton, Denise Goetz,
Bailee Schreyer-Bragassa, Gayle Anne Dudley, Shelley Jacobs, Jill
Grose, Theresa Vosburgh, Dorothy Cladas, Julianne Hill, and newcomer
to the stage, Casey Nesbitt. Performances
of "Celebrating Women in Theatre" will be at 4:00 pm Saturday
and Sunday, June 28th and 29th at the Salida Steamplant Theatre
and Events Center. Admission is free, and donations will be gratefully

Annual Salida Art Walk. Located in Historic Downtown Salida,
the biggest little Art Town in the West. Inviting all art enthusiasts
to the most stimulating art festival in Colorado where the entire
town is transformed into an art gallery for the weekend. Over 40
galleries, shops and resturants host this community wide event showcasing
nationally known and local artists' work while offering the public
the unique opportunity to meet the creative personalities face to
