Envision Chaffee County – January

“There’s an energy around this project, it’s ballooning and the more that people get involved, the more excited they get.”

KHEN’s Leslie Matthews spoke about our outreach to the community during a Podcast with Envision Team Lead Cindy Williams. Download and listen to one of the station’s 2017 Community News Stories.

Get ready for the next Envision Team meeting!

Please RSVP for the next Envision Team work session on Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m at the Buena Vista Community Center. A compressed session for those with work conflicts takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Poncha Springs New Town Hall Center. Childcare is available upon request for meetings. Everyone is invited to attend.

Envision Team Meeting No. 3 will be a fun and action-packed session. Building on the common ground identified in the Community Vision Statements and a list of measures we have been developing, we will look at new scorecards and fascinating data that answer, “How are we doing now compared to the vision for Chaffee County?” With a shared understanding of the trends and barriers to making the vision a reality, then we will talk action. We hope you will join us!

Please help expand Envision!
Envision Chaffee County will be more successful with input and participation from everyone. How can you help?

·     Invite a neighbor or coworker to the Team Meeting on Jan. 12!

·     Reach out to your networks and share the project and its goals.

·     Connecting Envision to a group that meets regularly can have tremendous impact. Contact Envision Project Coordinator Terri Scales to set up a brief presentation to your HOA, club or friends.

Community Vision Statements

We continue to gather input on the four Community Vision Statements. Please give us your input! In 2030 and beyond, Chaffee County will have …

·     Healthy forests, waters and wildlife maintained in balance with outdoor recreation.

·     A sustainable agricultural community and open rural landscapes with growth concentrated in and around towns.

·     Community members able to live locally and benefit from an increasingly diversified economy.

·     A friendly, supportive community where participation is encouraged and shared cultural elements connect us.

How will the Vision become reality?
It’s time to roll up our sleeves even further and join Action Teams (formerly called Working Groups). Teams will work separately in each of the four Vision Statement areas to shape strategies and plans beginning at the end of January. Here is your opportunity to create our best future in your personal areas of interest. Sign up now!

Happy Holidays from the Envision Core Team! See you next year!
