Chaffee County Public Health – Diabetes Prevention Program – August 23
The Diabetes Prevention Program is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program, which proves that through healthier eating, increased physical activity, and a small amount of weight loss, a person with pre-diabetes can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes by 58% and over 71% in those over age 60. The National Diabetes Statistics Report, 2017 states that 1 in 3 Americans are prediabetic.
Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) is proud to begin our 4th year offering DPP at no charge to pre-diabetics of our county and surrounding counties. New classes will begin on August 23: 5 pm in Salida at First Presbyterian Church and 11 am in Buena Vista at the County Annex building.
