Business of the Month: Corvus:Clothing & Curiosities

Corvus earns June Business of the Month award

Corvus: Clothing and Curiosities earned the June Business of the Month award from Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce.

Lori Roberts, chamber executive director, said the business earned the distinction through its various ways of giving back to the community.

“You’ve help with the (Salida Spartan Athletic) Booster Club, you’ve helped with fundraisers for firefighters, you’ve assisted local families that have lost their home or needed assistance,” Roberts said in making the presentation. “You’ve even helped out with Ark-Valley Humane Society (by) hosting a puppy adoption event.”

Roberts commended owners Brandon Blake and Tamar Madrigal for doing so much in the short time they’ve been in town. Blake said they’re happy to be able to lend a hand where needed.

“We love all the things we’re being asked to be a part of,” Blake said. “We want to create things for the community.”

One such event was the Vampires’ Ball, and Blake said they helped raise money locally for Planned Parenthood. He added they raised “almost $3,000.”

Madrigal said they were among the sponsors of the Ark Valley Pride Celebration that took place Saturday and had a live screen-printing table at the event.

“That will go to help the Partnership for Community Action organization,” Madrigal said.

For more information about the business, visit Facebook at Corvus: Clothing Curiosities; Instagram at Corvus_Clothing; its website, corvusclothing.net, or the store at 132 F St. The owners can be reached at 207-4545.
