Business of the Month and Ribbon Cuttings: April ’17

Business of the Month: Bruce Erickson, DDS

Chamber names Erickson business of the month

Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce named the office of Bruce Erickson, DDS, as its April Business of the Month honors.

Lori Roberts, chamber executive director, said the dentistry office gives back to the community in several ways, and that was part of the reason it received the honor.

“You donate to the Tenderfoot Cancer Climb, you donate to the Mile High wrestling club and the after-prom program,” Roberts said in presenting the award.

The dentistry office also donates toothbrushes and toothpaste to the local Elks Lodge, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County as well as countries such as Cuba, Liberia and others.

“You give to military personnel, you donate dental services when appropriate, and you do internship opportunities for local high school students,” Roberts said.

Erickson, who has spent 13 years in Salida, said he was humbled by the award and attributed the success of the office to his staff.

“Without them I couldn’t do anything,” Erickson said. “There’s four of them and one of me and I make jokes that I’m the weakest link in this place.”

Erickson said he spent eight years practicing dentistry in the military in Nebraska, Delaware and four years in Germany.

To schedule an appointment, call 539-7655 or visit the office at 401 W. U.S. 50., which is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday.
