Business of the Month and Ribbon Cuttings: July ’17

Business of the Month: Mo Burrito

Mo Burrito earns July Chamber Business of the Month award

Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce presented its July Business of the Month award to Mo Burrito.

Owners Rob and Sarah Gartzman said they were honored to receive the distinction from their peers and grateful for the way the community continues to support their businesses.

“We love this community,” Sarah Gartzman said. “Not only do we feed them, but the amount of things they do to keep us in business and support our family and business – we couldn’t do this without this town.”

Lori Roberts, chamber executive director, said a group of peers nominated the business for the many ways it gives back to the community and helps out in town.

“That encompasses a lot of donating, a lot of time and effort,” Roberts said. “That includes donating to the (Salida) Aspen Concerts series, FIBArk competitors, to (Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center) and so many things. You guys give out gift cards to the high school and so forth, but on top of that, there’s a ton of job creation.”

In May the Gartzmans opened their third business, the Biker and the Baker at 123 W. First St., and with that addition Sarah Gartzman said they now employ more than 30 people among all three businesses.

“The biggest thing we can do for the community is feed them, and we love that,” Sarah Gartzman said. “Mo Burrito’s goal is to provide high quality burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and a nice bar selection at the most affordable cost at the highest quality we can provide to the community. We love being here at Mo Burrito and being able to do that for everyone in Salida.”
